Lighting and Camera Setup for a Chamet Live Session

By Chamet Agents editorial team · Reviewed October 26, 2026

Improve how clearly people can see you with a simple lighting and camera check. You can test the basics before buying equipment or changing your entire streaming space.

Place the light before adjusting filters

Start with a soft light facing you rather than a bright window directly behind you. Check the image at the time you expect to stream because daylight changes. If shadows are strong, move the light or your seat before adding more effects. A clear image helps you see whether the setup actually works.

Set the scene before going live
Light → face

Put a soft main light in front of you; avoid a bright window behind you.

Camera → eye level

Use a stable stand and keep the lens clean.

Background → simple

Remove distracting items and private documents from the frame.

Original setup guide. Filters do not replace even lighting and a stable camera.

Stabilize the camera and frame

Clean the lens gently and secure the phone so it will not slip during the session. Position it at a comfortable height. Check the edges of the frame for private papers and distracting movement. Leave enough room for natural movement without repeatedly moving out of view.

Run a realistic test

Use the same charging arrangement, seat and background you plan to use live. Watch for flicker, changing exposure and heat. Adjust one element at a time and compare. If the camera works elsewhere but not in Chamet, review app permissions before assuming you need a replacement phone.

Do I need an expensive camera to begin?

Start by testing the camera and lighting you already have. Buy equipment only after identifying a specific limitation that a particular purchase would solve.
